The State Fire Marshal’s Office says one man has died in a house fire in the town of Oxford.

According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, the body of the man was discovered in the bedroom of his home on the Hogan Pond Road after firefighters arrived just after noon.  A team of Fire Marshal Investigators are attempting to pinpoint the cause of the blaze, which started in the man’s bedroom.  The identity of the victim is being withheld as relatives are being notified of his death. It is the third fire death of the new year.  An elderly couple died when fire destroyed their home near Greenville on Saturday.
