If ‘ice’ is your thing, you don’t have to go all the way to Canada to enjoy it. Right here in Maine there are Ice Bars, yep, bars made of ice.

Mid-January through mid- February is ice bar season in Maine.

Glacier Ice Bar and Lounge at Samoset Resort in Rockport will have 20,000 pound of glacial ice transforming it into and ice lounge on two weekends, January 13-15 and January 20-21.

Spire 29 in Gorham will hold their 3rd annual ice bar which includes an ice luge outside serving up chilled drinks. It includes a free photo booth and light snacks. Spire & Ice runs January 13-14.

Gritty McDuff’s and Baxter Brewing in Auburn will host an ice bar on the second day of Auburn’s Winter Festival on January 28, Tent, live music, and ice luge and fireworks.

Flavors of Freeport Chef’s Signature Series and Ice Bar will be at the Hilton Garden Inn, Freeport on February 17-18. Ice sculptures, lights, snow machine, roaring fries and an ice bar are all part of the fun. On Saturday, February 18 there will be live music from Motor Booty Affair.

Some event have free admission (pay for your drinks) but some of the ice bars have an admission cost.
