Hi, I'm Sarah Dyer, and I'm addicted to Disney.  But this really is an amazing thing that happened and I have to share it.  If you have ever lost something that really means a lot to you and found it years later, than you can relate to how I feel about this.

Some might say something as piddly as a Minnie Mouse car antenna topper couldn't possibly have any sentimental value to it, therefore why should one be upset when it's lost.  Just buy a new one...right?  I would disagree.  My antenna topper was special because it was purchased during a family vacation back in 2012.  It was picked out by my daughter and it rested peacefully on my van for 8 months before that unfortunate day when I lost it.

How did I lose it?  I live down a lengthy dirt road.  But back in 2013 we were moving in.  Unfamiliar with the road, I was traveling a snag too fast and a branch from an overhanging tree slapped my antenna causing the topper to go flying.  I stopped and immediately started looking for it.  Couldn't find it.  Many months passed and every time we walk up down the road, we casually look to see if it's there.  No luck.

I accepted that it was gone.  On our last vacation, I bought another one...but Mickey Mouse this time.  I'm adjusting to it on my truck.  But that Minnie Mouse one is always in the back of my mind.

Everything changed yesterday.  Our road had flooded a bit over the last month.  My kids were walking home after getting off the school bus and my youngest son, Brennan, noticed it.  With enthusiasm, he picked it up and ran the rest of the way home to show it to me.  We have our Minnie Mouse antenna topper back.  It has such a great story, we are going to turn it into a Christmas ornament for the tree.
