After CMT Music Awards show hosts Jason Aldean and Kristen Bell begged announced the six finalists for Video of the Year, Miranda Lambert took the stage to put on a sassy and energetic performance of 'Mama's Broken Heart.'

Before Lambert could get behind the mic, Aldean and Bell announced the following finalists for Video of the Year:

Carrie Underwood, 'Blown Away'
Florida Georgia Line, 'Cruise'
Jason Aldean, '1994'
Luke Bryan, 'Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye,'
Miranda Lambert, 'Mama's Broken Heart,'
Taylor Swift, 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'

With that big announcement out of the way, Brantley Gilbert and AnnaSophia Robb introduced the Texas-born singer as a girl who is "sweet as tea one minute and tough as nails the next." Lambert delivered the tough love they were asking for with the kind of edgy performance that only she can deliver.

The country songstress took the stage in a short black dress and sky-high heels, which were a perfect ensemble to set the tone for the powerful song. A band of six musicians and a video screen displaying images of women putting on makeup, whispering secrets and smoking cigarettes backed her up.

'Mama's Broken Heart,' written by Kacey Musgraves, doesn't need any pyrotechnics or complicated lighting displays to make it entertaining -- the engaging and off-beat arrangement does that on its own. Of course Lambert brings an unmatchable energy to any performance, making it a perfect addition to the 2013 CMT Music Awards.
