MLB Division Winning Odds
The 2015 Major League Baseball season gets underway Monday and every year, every team has a chance to go all the way. At least, most fans see it that way, but the reality is some teams are better than others. So who are the Las Vegas odds makers picking to win their divisions this year?
Al East: The Boston Red Sox are the favorite to win in what is being called the most competitive division in baseball. Toronto is expected to finish second. All five teams in this division have a shot.
Al Central: Detroit and Cleveland, like the Red Sox, are both a 2 to 1 favorite to win it. Followed by the Chicago White Sox.
AL West: The LA Angels are the odds on favorites with the Seattle Mariners second. As usual in the west the Houston Astros are expected to finish dead last.
NL East: The Washington Nationals are picked to finish first closely followed by the Florida Marlins. The New York Mets have a chance according to odds maker but the odds drop way off with Philadelphia and Atlanta fighting for last place.
NL Central: The St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates made it into the playoffs last year and they are predicted to finish 1 & 2 again this year. The Cubs have a shot at 4 to 1.
NL West: The race is on for the best in this division with the three teams from California vying for the top spot. The LA Dodgers have a slight edge over San Francisco with Giants holding an edge over San Diego.
World Series: The Washington Nationals have the best odds at 5 to 1 with the LA Dodgers at 6-1. The Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs are tied at 5th with 16-1 odds.
