Much Of Augusta And Hallowell Without Internet And Phone Service

About 1,000 Time Warner Cable customers in Augusta and Hallowell lost phone and internet service for a large part of the workday on Friday. Service went out around 6 a.m. and was restored around 3 p.m. So what happened?A Time Warner spokeswoman told the Kennebec Journal that a router problem caused the outage.

We lost our service here at B-98.5, it really puts the spotlight on how much we depend on the internet. We could not post stories on our website, we could not enter contracts, we could not produce music and commercial logs.

Once the service return, the staff at the radio station had to work extra hard to get this prepared for this weekend and on Monday. It makes you think what we did back in the day!
