NBC getting ready for the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia in 2014 so they are looking back to the 1994 Winter Olympics and the famous ‘Whack Heard Round the World’. NBC is developing a documentary about Nancy Kerrigan and Tanya Harding and the ‘lead pipe’ to the knee incident.

The announcement comes on the heels of ESPN announcing they will be doing a '30 for 30' show on the same subject. The one thing that separates the two is NBC will have interviews with Nancy Kerrigan and ESPN won’t. NBC will interview both skaters as they tell their store on how the event shaped their lives. Harding was banned for life from participating in, or coaching in, United States Figure Skating Association events and was stripped of her 1994 U.S. Championship. Kerrigan has been mostly quiet about the incident since it happened, so it will be interesting to hear what she has to say.
