NCAA Bracket Challenge Recap

Well, our NCAA Bracket Challenge contest has wrapped up for this spring, and what a tournament it was!

First of all, special congratulations go out to Cori Prisco of Winslow, who was the best in our local bracket with 46 points! For her success, Cori will take home our local prize, a Spring Clean-Up package from J&M Camper and Marine in Augusta!

Cori had a close race to the top of the bracket, as four other players wrapped up the tourney within five points of the lead.

That did not include B98.5's Randy McCoy, who finished tied for 13th place overall with 39 points.

A lot of brackets got busted in the early rounds, as big upsets by low-seeded teams such as Harvard and Florida Gulf Coast University defied the experts. At least one listener did see Harvard pulling off the first-round upset, but, they also picked the Crimson to go all the way to the Final Four, where they were to lose to Pacific. Needless to say, with a Final Four of Harvard, Pacific, Villanova and NC AT&T, that bracket was well out of the running!

Another Cinderella run that no one saw coming was Wichita State, as that team’s run to the Final Four wasn’t predicted by anyone in our challenge.
