For many years, I was a member of the Central Maine Dart League in the Lewiston-Auburn area. I played darts in the league with several different teams, including one with the current Maine dart champion Jim Fitzsimmons.

The last team I joined, The Rats, had been a team in the league since the late 1990's and they had never won the championship. I was friends with the guys on the team and they decided to add me to the team. We won! They decided to retire the team and I haven't shot darts since. That was over 5 years ago.

Then last week, I saw on Facebook a dart league starting at Charlamagne's on Water Street in Augusta. The league will start on February 17, 2015 and I figured it's time to dust off the darts. I have the same set of darts for about 15 years. They have been sitting in my car and haven't been touched in over 5 years!

I'm sure there will be plenty of rust, but I figure it's more about getting out and meeting some new people. I've lived in Augusta for almost ten years and almost all of my friends are still in the Lewiston-Auburn area.

If you'd like to learn more about the new dart league in Augusta, contact Dan Emery, or show up Tuesday evening by 6 pm. at Charlamagne's in Augusta.
