A new elite high school in Chicago was to be named after President Barack Obama but that will not happen. Mayor Rahm Emanuel thought it would be a good idea but after on going complaints from African-Americans, they will look for another name.

The school is predominantly for white wealthy students and the community didn’t think it is appropriate to name it after the President. They don’t mind a school named after him but would prefer it if the school was located in either the Hyde Park area where he grew up, or in Roseland where the President got his start.
