NFL Has New Rule For Kicking Extra Points
NFL owners and the Competition Committee have approved a new rule for the upcoming 2015 season. The extra point will be made more exciting by having all kicked extra points from the 15 yard line.
In addition to the rule, the defense will be able to score 2 points on blocked kick returns. The current rule on blocked kicks made the ball dead on a failed try. The new rule still allows a team to try for a two point conversion but now, if a penalty occurs, the then can try for the 15 yard 1 point conversion.
The New England Patriots had similar plan they proposed to the league with the only difference being the two point conversion on blocked kicks, the Pats plan didn’t have that in it.
The owners voted 30-2 to accept the plan.
