The 1st round of the NFL draft isn’t until April 28th but scouts from 10 NFL teams were in Orono on the University of Maine campus looking over Black Bear hopefuls.

Trevor Bates of Westbrook and Bruce Johnson were the two getting the hardest look during the annual Pro Day at the campus. This is a chance for the players to showcase what they have done during their UMaine career.

Scouts from The New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs were on hand as players went through strength, speed and agility drills.

Former Black Bear Mike DeVito was among spectators watching the workouts. DeVito is a free agent this year but spent the last three with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The NFL Draft is April 28, 29, 30 and here’s wishing good luck to our Maine Black Bears.
