Eight year old Trevor Russel has made the cut for the World Championship for the 2017 Pinewood Derby. He qualified in his division after winning the local Pinewood Derby competition in March and then the regional test in April in Oakland. Trevor, from North Anson, came up with the magic with his foster parents and will represent Pack 482 on Saturday in Times Square, in New York City. According to their website, finalists are Cub Scouts who finished in either first, second or third place in their respective rank — Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos I, Webelos II — within their local district or council championship race.

It's Throwback Thursday, and I wish I could find some pictures of my Pinewood Derby experiences. Back in the day, I made it to regionals with a replica of Dale Earnhardt's Wrangler car. Live the dream, Trevor!
