The New England Patriots are undefeated and it seems that nobody, except for those in New England, like it. First there was Deflategate and now is ‘coingate’.

Well, I made-up that term but some want an investigation into the fact that the Patriots win the coin-toss at the beginning of the game more often than not. The Patriots have won the coin toss in 19 of their last 25 game. Some say that’s a mathematical impossibility with the chances of that happening at something like .007 percent.

New England has lost the last two coin-tosses including this Sunday’s 27-10 win over Washington. The big complaint is that when the Patriots win the coin toss they defer (letting the opposing team get the ball first) and the Pats get the ball second. When that happens the Patriots usually get the ball last in the half and then first in the second half. If they can score on both of those possessions, the better for them.

The fact is there is a 20 percent chance that a team can go through a lucky stretch, like the Patriots, in a 25 game stretch. Considering  the length of Belichick’s career, there is a good possibility that he might go through a stretch of winning so many random coin flips.

What it all comes down to for me is the fact that the Patriots are a great team and everyone is trying to find ‘anything’ they can to blemish their record.

Give me a break already!!!!!!!!! If these teams would worry more about preparing and game-planning to play the Patriots, maybe, just ‘maybe’ they would beat them.
