Jeff Daniels' speech in the HBO series, The Newsroom, about why America isn't the greatest country is probably one of the most eye opening speeches I have ever heard...and just in time for this year's election (even though it aired years ago).  NSFW but definitely worth a watch:

With Memorial Day right around the corner, I think about the important men in my life who have served our country.  My husband was in the Air Force, McCoy & my dad were in the Army and my Grandfather was in the Navy all protecting the country we live in today.  I think about those soldiers we've lost and continue to lose.  I wonder to myself if they are expected our country to be in the shape it is today and if their time in the service was worth it to them.

As we sit here talking about which bathroom to pee in, or about Caitlyn Jenner being Woman of the Year.  Hillary Clinton & Donald Trump are running for president.  Bringing hundreds of thousands of immigrants to our country when we have homeless veterans.  Enabling those on welfare.  I wonder if those who fought to make our country free imagined it to be the way it is today.

I find myself frustrated, personally, with our system because my current health insurance doesn't want to cover the million dollar surgery I just had, that saved my life, because they don't feel it was 'medically necessary'.  But, my life insurance police wasn't approved because chiari malformation kills.  So, I could watch and rewatch this speech over and over again and agree with every single word he has to say.

Unfortunately, we can't embed the video to our website, but you can click here to see it.  I urge you to watch it.
