Oxford Plains Speedway owner Bill Ryan yesterday announced that he has sold the racetrack to veteran racing promoter Tom Mayberry. He's the owner and president of the Pro All Stars Series known as PASS. Ryan has owned Oxford Plains Speedway since 2000 after buying an interest in 1998. The deal is expected to be finalized within the next week.

What will the sale mean for the 'Oxford 250?' It looks like after six years as a late-model event, next year's 40th annual summer classic will mark a return to PASS super-late-model standards. Mayberry said that the 250 weekend will take place from July 19 to 21, with all qualifying for the main event that will be held on Sunday.
