Pats Starters Look Impressive, Beat Panthers [VIDEO]

The New England Patriots showed fans and the rest of the league just how good they could be this season in a 30-7 win over the Carolina Panthers.For the first time this preseason the Pats played their starters nearly the entire first half and they impressed in all three phases of the game. The defense which has the potential to be the teams strength came up with three sacks of Cam Newton. Chandler Jones had two of those sacks while Rob Ninkovich had the other.

Tom Brady completed 17 of 21 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns, both to Shane Vereen out of the backfield. Jullian Edeleman caught eight passes for 99 yards.

On special teams Stephen Gostowski kicked two field goals including a 60 yarder to end the first half.

The Patriots go on the road to play their final preseason game on Thursday against the New York Giants. You can hear the game live on B98.5.
