The annual Perseid meteor shower, known for being one of the brightest of all the meteor showers, will be visible this week in the Northern Hemisphere.

The peak for the meteor showers should be this Wednesday and Thursday nights.

The Perseid's should be get brilliant in the night sky due to a new moon, meaning the night skies will be very dark and perfect for meteor viewing. Under clear and dark skies, you should be able to see up to 100 shooting stars an hour.

Astronomy experts say these are the best conditions for viewing them since 2010.

The fiery streaks of light should be visible to the naked eye with no additional equipment needed to view them.
