Plan On Joining A Gym For The New Year? Here’s A List Of Things Not To Do
Ah the holidays, visiting Santa at the mall, sending out Christmas cards, visiting family and friends and the rush of newbies joining the gym. It never fails, as the New Year arrives, so do people that get gym memberships. If you are joining a gym, here is a list of 22 things you shouldn't do.
1. Eating a heavy or smelly meal before you go
2. Showing up at 6am or 6pm
3. Copying someone else’s workout... or someone else’s form
4. Using the Smith machine to do squats
5. Dropping weights
6. Grunting excessively
7. Forgetting your shower shoes
8. Forgetting your headphones
9. Staring
10. Hoarding or monopolizing equipment
11. Failing to wipe down a machine before you use it
12. Always doing the same thing
13. Taking selfies of every move
14. Taking advice from anyone who’s not a certified trainer
15. Choosing the locker next to the person who's a little too comfortable with nudity
16. Skipping your warm up or cool down
17. Not asking for help
18. Going commando
19. Walking around naked in the locker rooms
20. Failing to follow a plan
21. Giving unsolicited advice
22. Skipping cardio… or skipping strength work
I have to admit that I am guilty of breaking some of these rules (1,2,4,8,9,12,14,and 16)
So good luck if you are joining a gym in 2016 and what are some things that you are guilty of while working out at the gym?
