Police Arrest Skowhegan Men On Heroin Charges

Maine Drug Enforcement Agents from the South Central Task Force in Augusta arrested and charged 24 year old Dominic Deon Currie, and 52 year old David Sincyr, both of Skowhegan, with Class A, Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (heroin) today.
According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland, the MDEA, with substantial assistance from the Skowhegan Police Department, Somerset County Sheriff’s Department and the Maine State Police, have for several months been conducting an investigation into the distribution of heroin and other drugs from a North School Street residence in Skowhegan.

McCausland said that earlier today, investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by Dominic Currie in Skowhegan. At the time of the stop, the vehicle was being driven by Currie’s father, 42 year old Dwayne Currie. In searches of the vehicle and of the younger Currie, agents located approximately 9 grams of heroin, with a street value of $3,000. Based on this seizure, Dominic Currie was taken into custody and charged with Class A Trafficking in Schedule W drugs (heroin) and his father, Dwayne Currie, was arrested on outstanding warrants.
Following the arrests, investigators searched the single family residence on North School Street where Dominic Currie has been living. The home is also occupied by the owner, David Sincyr. Found during the search were more heroin and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking. As a result, Sincyr was also charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (heroin)

All arrested have been transported to the Somerset County Jail in Skowhegan for processing. This investigation is continuing and more arrests are likely, McCausland said.
