An Oklahoma state lawmaker wants to ban the wearing of 'hoodie' style sweatshirts in public areas.

Oklahoma state senator Don Barrington wants the ban of wearing 'hoodies' in public places. The proposal is an amendment to an Oklahoma law that makes it illegal to hide your identity in any public place. The proposed fine would be $500.

The Senator told an Oklahoma television station that 'Oklahoma businesses want state leaders to be responsive to their safety concerns, and this is one way we can provide protection.'

Those opposed to the 'hoodie' ban argue it's a violation of an individuals right to chose what their wear as long as it doesn't violate public decency.
