Last Friday one of the most anticipated albums of 2018 was released. Kenny Chesney has released Songs for the Saints, his 17th full length album. According to Chesney, the album was written inspired by the recovery effort for Hurricane Irma, which destroyed his home on the Virgin Islands. He will be donating some of the proceeds from the album to relief efforts.

The album as expected, features a beach, sit back with your toes in the sand vibe, that Chesney has become known for. He co-wrote 5 of the 11 tracks, 2 were covers, one of Jimmy Buffet's Trying to Reason With Hurricane Season which features Buffet himself, and Ends of the Earth by Indie Rock band Lord Huron. The album also features Chesneys char topping song, Get Along, which is the current #1 on the Country Airplay Charts.

So far the reviews for the album have been solid, praising his song choices and heartfelt lyrics with some publications saying it is Chesneys best. I personally thought the album was very good. You can hear the sadness in his voice in response to Irma on some songs as well as his passion for his fanbase in the song, We're All Here.

If you have not listened to the album yet, give it a listen, you will not be disappointed.
