The love of bacon and the love of whiskey have come together in the form of the Templeton Rye Pork Project. Templeton Rye Distillery in Iowa is trying to raise pigs that taste like whiskey and people are already calling wondering when thier going to ready.

Pure bred Duroc pigs, 25 of them, born in January are on a diet that contains distillery grain in their food, their feed is from spent Templeton Rye mash. They won’t make the bacon from the pigs but they will sell them to someone who will and that decision will be made in June. Co-founder Keith Kerkhoff said ‘this is something someone was going to do, and Templeton wanted to be on the cutting edge.
