Randy’s College Football National Championship Preview
The College Football National Championship is Monday, December 12 between Oregon and Ohio State. The Buckeye defense has the task of slowing down the Ducks high powered offense. Oregon scored 59 points on last year’s champs Florida State beating them by 40.
The Ducks will be without their number two wide receiver, Darren Carrington, who caught seven passes for 165 yards in the playoff game. He has been suspended by the NCAA for testing positive for marijuana. Oregon has appealed the finding but has already been heard and denied. The Ducks will also be missing receiver Devon Allen (knee) ,tight end Pharoah Brown (leg)and their top cornerback Ekpre-Olomu (ACL).
Ohio State goes into the game with sophomore quarterback Cardale Jones who is starting only his third game. He has won two big games though, beating Michigan State to win the Big 10 Conference title and beating Alabama in the Sugar Bowl to win a spot in the National Championship Game. Other than playing with their third string quarterback, the Buckeyes are going into the game healthy.
