It is week 10 in College Football and #1 Alabama had the week off. On October 5th the Michigan Wolverines beat Minnesota to win the oldest division rival trophy, ‘The Little Brown Jug’, but this Saturday they lost to Michigan State and the Spartans won the second oldest division rival trophy ‘The Paul Bunyan Trophy’. State won 29-6.

#2 Oregon plays #5 Stanford this Thursday night, The Ducks only loss last year was to the Cardinal.

#3 Florida State rolled past #7 Miami 41-14, both teams came in undefeated.

Ohio State at #4 shut-out Purdue 59-0; the Buckeyes have not lost a game in two seasons.

#8 Clemson bounced back from last week’s loss to Florida State with a 59-10 win over Virginia.

#9 Missouri had a 21 point first half lead over Tennessee and that’s all they needed, holding to Vols to only 3 points. Final 31-3.

Notre Dame beat Navy in a see-saw battle 38-24

Air Force beat Army 42-28.

Maine, in a Colonial Athletic Association game, had to come from behind to win for their fifth win in a row and take their record to 8-1. Stony Brook played physical, hard, football but the Black Bears lead at the half 13-0. In the second half Stony Brook put together two long scoring drives to take the lead 14-13. Maine put together a 92 yard scoring drive crossing to the goal line with 5:27 to play, a two conversion failed. Stony Brook had two more possessions but the Black Bear defense held. Final score Maine 19-14. Next week Maine is at Albany.
