Week 11 in college football and the number one team will stay the same this week while there was a big upset in the top 5. There were two one loses teams that were hoping to move up in the polls but both of those teams lost. Notre Dame lost to Arizona State and Michigan State lost to Ohio State.

Both of those teams now have two loses and any hopes of making the playoffs are gone.

#1 Mississippi State won over Tennessee-Marin 45-16.  State QB Dak Prescott threw for two touchdowns and ran for another. He has now thrown for over 100 yards in nine games this season, a new Mississippi State record.

#2 Florida State over Virginia 34-10. FSU has won 25 in row becoming the 18th major college program to win that many straight games. The Seminoles Karlos Williams ran for 70 yards and two TD’s. Next week Florida State plays in state rival Miami.

#3 Auburn lost to Texas A& M 41-38 giving the Tigers two loses on the season and making it almost impossible to stay in the top 5. Auburn with a chance to tie the game fumbled the ball and ended any hope of coming back in the game.

#4 Oregon beat Utah breaking the game open in the fourth quarter by scoring 24 points.  Quarterback Marcus Mariota threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns also ran for 114 yards and one touchdown.

#5 Alabama went to overtime and beat LSU 20-16. The game was played at Tiger Stadium and Alabama has great success on the road in that stadium. Since 1970 the Crimson Tide has an 18-4-1 record.

The Maine Black Bears played a super game at home against Richmond beating the Spiders 33-20. Richmond came into the game with a 7-2 record but the Maine defense held strong all day. The Black Bears intercepted three passes, one for a touchdown, and blocked a punt for another score.  Maine lead at the half 23-6 and with only 11:19 to play had a 30-13 lead.
