Week 8 in college football saw some teams bounce back from last week and a couple of undefeated teams lose their first game. Number 1 and number 5 played, Florida State and Notre Dame and when it was over the Irish lost.

Notre Dame led at the half 17-10 and scored the game winning touchdown on a fourth down with :13 seconds left until a flag called the play back. The Irish couldn’t score on the next play and lost to number 1 FSU 31-27.

Number 3 Ole Miss had no trouble with Tennessee, winning 34-3. The Ole Miss defense has only given up six touchdowns in seven games.

Number 4 Baylor went to West Virginia and lost 41-27. Baylor hurt themselves with 185 yards in penalties, setting a school record they wish they didn’t have. The Mountaineers threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns.

Number 7 Alabama gave Texas A & M their first shutout since coach Kevin Sumlin has been coaching the Aggies. The Tide rolled to a 59-0 win, scoring 35 points in the second quarter, the most points score in a quarter in Alabama history.

University of Maine kept it close for most of the game and dominated most of the play, but the offense couldn’t score and Albany beat the Black Bears 20-7. The Black Bear offense only managed 114 yards in the second half and was only 4-15 on third down in the game. Two turn overs in the first half lead to Albany scoring 10 points. With a little over five minutes left in the game, Albany scored a touchdown capping a 61 yard scoring drive.
