It was a week of upsets in college football as seven of the top 20 teams lost. #6 LSU fell to Ole Miss 27-24 as LSU’s QB threw 3 interceptions. #7 Texas A&M lost to #24 Auburn in a shootout 45-41. Unranked UCF scored 24 consecutive points to beat #8 Louisville 38-35.

Other upsets, #9 UCLA lost to #13 Stanford (not much of an upset) 24-10. Unranked Tennessee beat #11 South Carolina on a last second field goal 23-21.Geaorgia at #15 lost for the second week in a row, this time falling to Vanderbilt 31-27 and Arizona State held the nations leading rusher Bishop Sankey to -5 yards rushing in beating #20 Washington 53-24.

#1 Alabama had no trouble winning against Arkansas 52-0.

#2 Oregon beat Washington State 62-38. Next week Oregon and Stanford play, the Cardinal are the only team to beat the Ducks last year.

In what was supposed to be the game of the century, #5 Florida State scored on 5 touchdown drives in 1:39 or less to beat #3 Clemson easily 51-14.

Ohio State at #4 had to come from behind but they beat Iowa 34-24.

#10 Miami, despite 4 interceptions, held on to beat North Carolina 23-21.

 The Maine Black Bears keep rolling with a 34-20 win over William and Mary taking them to 6-1 on the season and 3-0 in conference play. Since New Hampshire lost to Villanova 29-28, Maine has first place in the Colonial Athletic Association. William and Mary had the leading defense in 3A ball going into the game but Maine scored on 4 of their first 5 possessions. Maine is on the road next week  in Philadelphia to take on the 4-3 Villanova Wildcats.
