February is on pace to be the coldest every recorded in many Maine communities, including Bangor and Portland. Besides the cold temperatures, we are also experiencing record amounts of snowfall.

With the snow over the weekend, Bangor has reached a new high mark for snowfall over a 31-day period. Between January 24 and February 20, just 28 days, Bangor recorded 60.8 inches of snow. That broke the old record of 59.4 inches that fell from February 1 and March 3, 1969.

According to the National Weather Service, Bangor has received 81.9 inches of snow since December 1, 2014. Portland comes in with 76.9 inches since December 1, 2014.
