The second annual Redneck Olympics will be coming to Van Buran County Fairgrounds in Clinton, Arkansas October 13th and 14th. There are more than 15 fun events for rednecks of all age to participate in and live music all day long both days.

Some of the events at this year’s game include: 4-wheeler rodeo, lawn mower races, wheelbarrow races, watermelon or pumpkin seed spitting, redneck horseshoes using toilet seats, big Bubba belly art contest and a BBQ contest.

The games have come under fire from the U.S. Olympic Committee, saying they don’t have the right to use the word ‘Olympic’ in their event title. When the Redneck Olympics were held in Hebron, Maine in August they ran in to the same problem. Harold Brooks, the organizer of the Maine Redneck Olympics said he received a telephone call from a paralegal at the USOC warning him to change the name or face a lawsuit. The same goes for the games in Arkansas. As in Maine, Arkansas organizers say the word ‘Olympic’ has been around since ancient Greece and they have no plans changing the name.

Thousands of people attend the Redneck Games in both states for a day fun and unusual games. One odd thing about the Redneck Games though…no beer allowed. Ouch!
