Many served during the Iraq War; I know a lot of soldiers from Maine who were there. Saddam Hussein, who was the president of Iraq for more than 23 years, was captured and hanged for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of his own people.

The rope that was used to hang Hussein is up for auction. Dr. Mowaffal Al-Rubaie, who led the dictator to his death, has put the rope used to hang him up for auction. A religious group in Iran, a couple of business men from Kuwait and a rich family from Israel has bid on the rope.

The current bid on the rope, which is in the doctor’s living room, is $7 million. Al-Rubaie thinks that price is too low and is expecting the bid to be around $9 million. In the meantime, it will remain in his home, where it is tied around a bust of Hussein.
