Ryan Wimbish Representing B-98.5 This Saturday In The Northeast Regional Finals Of The Texaco Country Showdown

On June 30th of this year, Ryan Wimbish of Richmond, was the winner of the B-98.5 Texaco Country Showdown. We all had a feeling here at the radio station that Ryan had what it took to go a long way in the showdown. Then in September, Ryan won the New England State Finals in Tunbridge, Vermont. Ryan won over 8 other contestants representing radio stations throughout New England. Ryan won the New England State Title and a $1,000 and this Saturday, October 27th he'll be competing in the Northeast Regional Final at Hershey Park in Hershey, PA. If Ryan wins, he'll advance to the National Finals and an all-expense-paid trip to Nashville to compete for $100,000 and the coveted title of 'Best New Act In Country Music.'

Each year more than 50,000 artists compete throughout the United States. Past local, state and regional winners include: Martina McBride, Garth Brooks, Miranda Lambert, Sara Evans, Brad Paisley and Billy Ray Cyrus.
