I can't believe I finally got a tattoo.  Years and years, I have always wanted to get one.  I finally mustered up the courage and got one.  Call it a midlife crisis or just wanting something sentimental engraved into my body, either way, I have no regrets.

Joe at Ink Slingrz in Augusta was absolutely amazing.  I can't believe that he hand drew the design.  He didn't use a stencil.  Just drew it on my wrist.  I want to say I was nerved up at the thought that I was trusting him to make no mistakes, but honestly, his overall calmness left me feeling comfortable with what he was doing.

The most common question I have been asked...Did it hurt?  No, it didn't.  It was annoying.  The best description I can give you is that it felt like I was repeatedly being scratched by a safety pin.  Rather obnoxious actually.  But towards the middle of it, I didn't even pay attention to that.  I was quite relaxed.

I wanted to incorporate Mickey Mouse into my tattoo.  Yup, I'm that much of a fan that I wanted the mouse tattooed on my body.  I decided to go with a "hidden mickey".  I know he's there and if you're a fan then you know he's there.  But unless I point it out, nobody will realize Mickey Mouse is in the tattoo.

People always tell me how special that moment is when you get a tattoo.  I have to admit that they were right.  I had a lot of emotions with the finished product.  My experience was similar to when I was handed my newborn baby for the first time.  Joe, from Ink Slingrz, gave me something that will last me the rest of my life.  It's pretty intimate.  Unless you have a tattoo, you won't understand that feeling I'm talking about.

I'm also told that once you get one, you will want more.  I believe this to be true as well.  I'm already prepared for #2!!

Watch for the video!  That is coming.  You will be able to see both Divas getting their tats.
