The AOS92 Board of Education will hold a public dismissal hearing today (Nov. 10) in the case of Waterville Senior High School Principal Don Reiter at 6PM in the gym of the George J. Mitchell School.

According to a report on CentralMaine.com, Reiter has been on paid administrative leave for over two months for reasons that have not been released to the public. According to WCSH, Eric Haley, the superintendent of schools, has recommended that the AOS92 Board of Education fire Reiter, however, Reiter and his attorneys have said there is no reason that the principal should be suspended or fired.

According to the CentralMaine.com report, both sides will be allowed to present evidence and call and cross-examine witnesses at the hearing on Nov. 10. The report said the board is expected to go into executive session at some point to deliberate in private. The public will not be allowed to speak at the hearing.

It is likely that the hearing will be spread over two days, with another hearing being held on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
