Scotty McCreery made his energetic return to the 'American Idol' stage Thursday night (May 15) performing his new single, 'Feelin' It' before the final two contestants were revealed.

The 20-year-old 'Idol' alum took the stage looking calm and casual in a blue t-shirt after Ryan Seacrest announced his performance. The crowd clapped along to 'Feelin' It' and McCreery even reached out for the hand of one lucky lady during his summertime song.

The judges also seemed to enjoy the song but Jennifer Lopez looked particularly happy as she danced to the music with a grin from ear to ear. The top three contestants got a lesson in an upbeat performance from McCreery as they watched from the side. They were probably a little worried because after 'Feelin' It' they would find out their fate.

The top three were Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson and Alex Preston but after Thursday's episode, only two remain. Irene was the first of the three to be announced as safe and Johnson's name was announced not long after. That means Preston had to say goodbye to his fellow contestants and judges but we could see more from him in the future. Talent runs in the family -- he's a cousin to country singer Jo Dee Messina!
