Sharon Buck Leaving B98.5 Friday
Yes, it’s true. After 9 1/2 years, I have made the decision to leave B98.5.
Sometimes the best decisions for you are not the most fun.
And this is definitely one of them.
Another opportunity has come my way! I’m very excited to be a full time employee of Kennebec Behavioral Health of Waterville starting Monday.
You see, before I worked for B98.5, I did medical billing in the mental health field for 6 years. I then got my job with B98.5 but was also doing the billing as a second job. Two jobs for years can take a toll on a person. So I had to make the best decision for me and my family. This job will keep my evenings and weekends free so I can spend more time with Chad, Anderson, Bradley and Jayden.
The past almost 10 years has been the most fun a person could ever have! Not only do I have best friends in Randy McCoy, Andy Capwell, Mike Poulin and Renee Nelson but I have found all of you: The listeners that wake up with B98.5′s Morning Buzz EVERY day! You call in wishing me a Happy Birthday or requesting my ‘Angels in the Snow’ song at Christmastime or even just telling me to have a good day! Your response and support have been overwhelming!
Thank you for being there through the happy times and the tough times. Thank you for loving my family. I think Anderson is the most loved little boy in the whole world and you all look out for him. It means so much to me.
Thank you for the well wishes for my upcoming wedding to Chad Hood, the most wonderful man in the entire world. I will still do posts about the wedding and make sure you can see what happens on our BIG DAY!
And thank you for your support of my singing. Music has been the one thing I can lose myself in and by being able to work here at B98.5 I got to combine my 2 favorite things: laughing and music. My band, Sharon Buck and Dixon Road, will be the first band at Waterfront Wednesday on June 25th and we can’t wait!
I will NEVER be far away! In fact, I will be calling in to win tickets…just like you! Because even BEFORE I started working here, I was a HUGE fan of B98.5 and always will be!
This Friday at Lisa’s Restaurant, B98.5 is nice enough to do one final thing for me. I LOVE the Pine Tree Camp and all the good it does for the disabled youth and adults in Maine. Because I can’t do the Waitressing Wednesdays this year, THIS FRIDAY we are having a Goodbye Breakfast from 6 til 9am. You’ll be able to donate to this incredible facility and help send a child to camp again this year! I hope I can be back every year when this happens!
I hope you still follow my happenings! Our family does have some crazy adventures! And we want to bring you right along with us! From our wedding to our honeymoon in Nashville to camping with the family, you have been a part of our lives and will continue to be.
I will miss you all. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all so much for letting me into your lives. I’ve had a blast! B98.5 will continue to be my FAVORITE radio station!
