Shipping Deadlines Coming Up For Christmas Deliveries

Having worked in Customer Service at LL Bean for numerous peak seasons in the past, I am fully aware of the procrastination habits of some customers. I have had customers call me on Christmas Eve morning, asking if we can get a pair of boots out to California by Christmas morning. Ummm, no Ma'am, we are unable to make that happen. I always suggested they cut a picture of the the boots out of a catalog, put it in a wrapped box, and tell the recipient they are on the way and should arrive in 4-6 business days!

There is still time for you to order something online and get it to where it needs to go to by next Saturday (Christmas Eve). But obviously, the closer we get to the weekend, the more it will cost you to expedite shipping to make sure it is there on time.

Here are some deadline dates from the major shippers:

FedEx:

For FedEx shipping within the USA

Dec. 20: Last day to ship via FedEx Express Saver
Dec. 21: Last day to ship via FedEx 2Day and FedEx 2Day A.M.
Dec. 22: Last day to ship via FedEx Standard Overnight, FedEx Priority Overnight, and FedEx First Overnight
Dec. 23: Last day to ship via FedEx SameDay City (standard)

UPS

For UPS shipping within the USA

Dec. 19: Last day to ship UPS 3 Day Select (for delivery on Friday Dec. 23)
Dec. 21: Last day to ship via UPS 2nd Day Air (for delivery on Friday Dec. 23)
Dec. 22: Last day to ship via UPS 2nd Day Air (must use Saturday Delivery option for packages to be delivered before Christmas Day) and UPS Next Day Air (for delivery by Friday Dec. 23)
Dec. 23: Last day to ship via UPS Next Day Air (must use Saturday Delivery option for packages to be delivered before Christmas Day)
