The subject of raising the minimum age to smoke cigarettes is gaining momentum. In a recent survey, seven out of ten Americans support raising the minimum age to purchase tobacco to 21.

Health experts say that keeping tobacco out of teenagers' hands could keep them from becoming addicts.

Those against raising the minimum age from 18, say that 18 is the age of an adult and if people can vote they should have the right to purchase tobacco.
