The world record for skinny dipping was broken over the weekend.

On a beach in Ireland, 2,500 women stripped off their clothes and took to the water. The annual event is known as Strip and Dip and this year will benefit Ireland's national children's cancer charity.

The event open to women only, participants were made up of cancer patients, survivors and those who had been otherwise affected by cancer.

According to indepentent.co.uk the event started 6 years ago when 200 women attended and has grown over the year to this years world record. A total 2,050 women of all ages to part. The women had to be in the water at the same time and they had to swim for five minutes at the same time.
