Looks like the problems the Washington Redskins are having with their logo and the name ‘Redskins’ has come to Skowhegan Area High School. For years the team has been the Skowhegan Indians with the school’s mascot of an Indian.

The school has received complaints in the past from Native American tribal groups but recently the Greater Bangor Area NAACP has called the symbol offensive and racist. The school wants to meet with tribes and the NAACP to see what can be done, the meeting is expect to come in the next two weeks.
