Last year was not a banner year for snow lovers in Maine. This winter, which is only 9 days old so far, has dumped another 6 to 8 inches of snow in central Maine. That follows the 10 inches of snow we received on Thursday.

It's already a distant memory that we did not have a white Christmas in Augusta this year. Could we possibly get a break from Mother Nature two winters in a row? It looks like the answer is NO! Ski and snowmobile enthusiasts are looking to make-up for last winters disappointing season. I must confess, I do not enjoy the snow and cold, but I am happy for those who enjoy it and for the tourism industry in Maine.

It looks like the shovels and snow blowers will be working overtime this year! Oh, and this week is shaping up to be wicked cold with high temperatures in the teens and overnight lows below zero!
