Former Democratic Gov. John Baldacci and his brother, former Bangor Mayor Joe Baldacci, are holding a spaghetti supper to generate support for raising the minimum wage.

The Baldacci brothers will be cooking the spaghetti sauce from their family's secret recipe that became famous at Momma Baldacci's, the former family restaurant of Bangor.

The event is this evening at Cony High School in Augusta. The former governor said Maine's minimum wage law hasn't kept pace with inflation and that "nobody working a 40 hour week should live in poverty."

Mainers will vote in November on a proposal to raise Maine's minimum wage from $7.50 per hour, topping out at $12 per hour in 2020. (AP)
