Squaw Mountain Ski Resort Will Open for First Time in Three Years
Squaw Mountain in Greenville hasn’t been open for the past few ski seasons, but activity is in high gear to open this season. The resort owner, James Confalone, has signed a lease with ‘The Friends Of Squaw Mountain.’ Amy Lane, the president of ‘The Friends Of Squaw Mountain,’ tells the Bangor Daily News, that she hopes to open by January 18th.
They hope to open with eight intermediate and beginner level trails and one chair lift. Lane started ‘The Friends Of Squaw Mountain’ page on facebook just after Christmas and have had nearly 1,700 likes. The ski area opened in 1963 and closed in 2010 and at it’s peak it offered 18 trails.
