State Senator Margaret Craven Seeking Bonds For Lewsiton Passenger Rail and Redevelopment

State Senator Margaret Craven of Lewiston, introduced two bills this week, that would bring as much as $38 million in state bonding to Lewiston and Auburn. One bill asks for $18 million in state backed bonds to upgrade the rail lines between Yarmouth and Auburn in the hope of bringing passenger train service to the Twin Cities.

October 30th, 1949 is a very special date for me. It was the anniversary of my mother and father. To my best memory, this is the story of how they met. My mother was a graduate of the Roosevelt School Of Nursing in New York City and my Dad was an army veteran of World War II. My Dad had injured his thumb during the war and was treated at the hospital where my Mom was working at.
