Hearing this story takes me back a few years.  Specifically, it takes me back to 2018.  Remember when, during the summer and fall of 2018, we were constantly losing power thanks to squirrels climbing on the power lines?  Here in Augusta, we lost power numerous times between July and late-September...

they're mostly concentrated in southern Maine, but as wind speeds increase for us, so will the likelihood of more outages.

As we move into Christmas day the temperatures will climb, the rain will get heavier and the winds will begin to blow.

I have family in the linesman trade and it's something I always here people complaining about.

At the time of writing this post (5:30 AM) , CMP is only reporting about 320 customers without power across the state of Maine

Every couple of weeks we seem to end up with a news story that perfectly fits the 'only in Maine' category. This particular story seems to be another good fit for our growing list. And the best part? It doesn't appear that there was any harm done to birds or humans...

Today's nice weather is not going to last

As we gear up for a 24 hour mix of nastiness, CMP is gearing up for a good chance of power outages.

Though the majority of outages have been restored, there are still thousands in the state that are in the dark. According to the CMP outage map, there were 3,552 customers without power as of 5:45 AM on 2/28/20. The majority of those outages are in Franklin County and the majority of those outages were in the town of Phillips...

According to the KJ the report finds that CMP's metering and billing system has been, in fact, reporting electricity usage and bill rates accurately.

It has been nearly 12 months since the Maine PUC started its probe into CMP's SmartCare billing system

Aggravated with their billing system, dozens of customers are looking to banish the company from Maine.

Peak wind gusts by Friday morning could be close to 50 mph here in Augusta, so be prepared and be careful.

Sure, we poke fun when things like this happen, but just know that we appreciate all you do for the community in times when we need you most.
