Given how FOX's upcoming Batman prequel TV series 'Gotham' had been burning through casting announcements over the past week, we expected a young Bruce Wayne to emerge as the very last. And while we might meet our new Batman-in-training over the weekend, we at least have the casting call to determine what qualities 'Gotham''s Bruce Wayne will have.

It only looks like Christmas outside on the east coast, but The CW has delivered early presents for fans of its most popular series, including 'Arrow,' 'Supernatural,' 'The Vampire Diaries,' its spinoff 'The Originals' and period soap 'Reign.' All five series have been renewed for additional seasons to carry into 2015!

Well, this isn't much of a surprise. Following the news that Fox's Batman-prequel TV series 'Gotham' had cast Alfred, The Penguin, and others atop Ben McKenzie in the leading role of Detective James Gordon, 'Sons of Anarchy' and 'Vikings' vet Donal Logue has officially been confirmed for the DC role of gruff detective Harvey Bullock.

This past weekend, we were blindsided to learn that FOX's forthcoming Batman prequel TV series, 'Gotham,' cast 'Southland' and 'The O.C.' star Ben McKenzie in the central role of Detective Jim Gordon, but now the new DC drama unveiled an even plumper portion of casting. The ever-ravenous success of comic-adapted series like 'The Walking Dead' and 'Arrow' predictably sent TV networks in a scramble to adapt the most popular original projects, but count us genuinely excited for this one. Syfy has partnered with DC Comics to bring us a TV adaptation of modern-day civil war comic 'DMZ,' with some major producing power attached!

We're still no closer to knowing if 'Arrow''s forthcoming spinoff pilot for 'The Flash' will land its own CW series this fall, though its cast at least continues to fill out nicely. Up next for the DC drama is Candice Batton as the Flash's comic love interest, Iris West, along with Broadway star Carlos Valdes ('Once') as Cisco Ramon, otherwise known as "Vibe"!

Earlier this week the CW's 'Arrow' afforded us a first look at the arrival of DC villainess Nyssa al Ghul ('Spartacus' star Katrina Law), daughter to Batman villain Ra's, though that was only a portion of the DC comic-fest of 'Arrow's next installment "Heir to the Demon."
