Alright, it's time to channel our inner giggling school boy. While scrolling through a list of Maine's towns and cities, occasionally you'll come across one that makes you look around real quick, check if anyone is there to judge you, and then allow yourself to have a good chuckle...
Barbara Thorpe of Dixfield, Maine passed away in 2002 and left a majority of her $150,000 estate to cats. She wanted to make sure local feral cats were taken care of but according to the cats’ current caretaker, they’ve seen very little of the money.
Brenda Jarvis, 72, and her sister Caddie Smith have been helping injured and abandoned cats in the Dixfield area for the past several years. They have a trailer where they keep the rescued cats. Jarvis tells the Lewiston Sun-Journal that some of the cats were found in dumpsters, or in boxes on the side of Route 2.
