After much discussion, including input from the public, Maine's new ECHL team has decided on a name.

After teasing on Tuesday, the new ECHL franchise in Portland has opened the naming of their team to the public.

While we work through the swamp days of July, Maine hockey fans have something to look forward to this upcoming season, the fact there will BE one! After the Pirates moved out of state, officials have been looking for a replacement. They've found one in the ECHL.
