It is always great to see and talk with someone that is so nice, like Elizabeth Vanderweide. I first met Elizabeth a few years ago because of the Harold Alfond College Challenge. Personally, I think she has one of the coolest jobs around. She helps people be aware and take advantage of money for secondary education.

I am a college student, what they call an “adult learner”. I am more “adult” than some in my program, less “adult” than others. By “adult” I mean…old. I have been doing since fall of 2008. This May I am due to graduate from Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield. This will be my first college degree. And this is how I am managing to keep the end in sight.

Last night after dinner, Anderson and I decided to work on his first grade spelling words. The teacher gives them out at the very beginning of the year and throughout the year the kids practice spelling them. We have been practicing a lot lately.
