Governor and Mrs. LePage want to say ‘Thank you’ to everyone who helped out this year with the governor’s annual food drive. Maine's first family says the food drive in which donors dropped off non-perishables at the Blaine House brought in about 1,568 pounds of food for Maine families.

THANK YOU! Thanks again this year for your wonderful support of B98.5′s 13th Annual “TANKS”giving Food Drive. After a long 98.5 hours, it was worth it. You have helped to donate 7 tons of food and about $3,700. That will go along way to feeding the hungry in central Maine. It's very much appreciated by the Augusta Salvation Army & the Waterville Salvation Army and many are food banks.

Today is election day and as I was broadcasting live from Goggin's IGA in Randolph this morning, I saw many customers walking into the store with their 'I Voted Today' stickers. I also saw plenty of generous people donating to the 'TANKS'giving food drive.

I have worked at B-98.5 since August 2000 and that November was the first year of 'TANKSgiving' food drive with the Maine Army National Guard. This year could be the coldest 'TANKSgiving' week we've had. On Monday, we kicked things off and I was with the Maine Army National Guard at Shaw's in Waterville.

The first day of 'TANKS'giving is always the hardest. Glitches, feedback, burnt out lights and the cold! Looking at the weather all weekend it said sunny and highs of 44 degrees. That's pretty warm compared to a few 'TANKS'givings we've had in the past. Last year we were spoiled with great weather.

This year, it looks like it's going to be a challenge! BRING IT, MOTHER NATURE!
